Halloween Fun

This year's Halloween was lots of fun. Mya dressed as a yellow chick/duck and I dressed as a farmer. I didn't know if Mya would get into the Trick-or Treating but she really loved it. To start, we went to a few neighbors' houses. I didn't bother bringing a bag because I thought it would be a short lived adventure. Mya caught on quickly and I had to ask for a grocery bag from one of my neighbors. Mya was not willing, at first, to put her candy in the bag and tried to hold on to every piece. Slowly she would unload her hands but through most the night she did hold onto a piece or two of candy. By the end of the night, Mya insisted on walking from house to house. She would attempt to say "trick or treat" which sounded like "nm-n-nut" and hold out her hand. Several houses she was able to grab several pieces of candy or make a quick turn around behind the group of kids on the door step and grab an extra piece of candy. At one house she said a very audible, "thank you", which was a first.
My farmer costume was not warm enough to last the whole neighborhood. So, I called for a ride. Mya probably would have made it all the way through the neighborhood even though her hands were freezing.
My mom and dad made an appearance during our Halloween Night. We met them at home and then went out to Boston's with Cami, Mike and Kendall. My favorite part of the night was when we were ordering our food. Mya made an attempt to talk with the waitress. It sounded and looked like she wanted the waitress's pen. When the waitress offered it to her, Mya said, "candy." She was just putting in her order. When the waitress was gone Mya tapped her hand on the table very as if she was waiting for her order of candy to come and this was an every day account for her.
